A quick visit to the shop to change gear as I was finding the JP Wave 80 a bit big. Opted for a Thommen X75 but stuck with the sail sizes. Then it was off to Sprecks for some steadier wind and bigger waves.

Rigged a 4.7 Combat with the Thommen and headed straight out through the channel for a few test runs. It turned out to be a nice board so I headed up to the reef for some nice clean waves. There is a bit of nack to catching them and it was a few runs before I got any riding but worth it.

Sprecks is much nicer than Kanaha as there aren't so many sharp bits to stand on. Saw loads of Turtles but no Sharks, though we found out later that a 12 ft Tiger Shark had chased a spear fisherman just upwind of us and stole his catch (speeds up your waterstarts). Strange to be sailing in shorts in the rain though.
